Young Kisharon bowls over guests at the Kingpin Suite

28 October 2015

Young Kisharon struck lucky on Sunday (25 October) when more than £5,000 was raised for people with learning disabilities thanks to a fun-filled evening that attracted nearly 150 supporters at the Kingpin Suite, Bloomsbury.  They enjoyed bowling, table tennis, pool, arcade games and delicious food at the party – arranged by Kisharon event organiser Jo Lubbock and committee members Simon Bitton, Eli Younger, Eve Noe, Natalie Jacobs, Riki Greenberg and Fella Salama.

Fundraising director Richard Franklin welcomed everyone, saying: “It is wonderful to see such a broad group of people from so many different backgrounds, as your support is of great importance to Kisharon’s future.  With your help we can safeguard the lives of the people we support – ensuring that children and adults with severe and profound multiple learning disabilities can have the same education and opportunities as us all.”

The evening included a raffle with impressive prizes such as box tickets to see Ellie Goulding at the 02; a pendant from Pruwer Diamonds; club membership at Mahiki; a Tottenham Hotspur stadium tour; a bottle of Glenmorangie; personal training with Dina Korman; scarves from Larizia and Rojo; a voucher for D & M Jewellers; a challah cover from Aisenthal; a 50 per cent discount voucher from Beit Hamadras; and sparkling wine from Sussers. The event was sponsored by wholesalers Epra Fabrics.

Committee member Natalie Jacobs, 20, said: “We’ve had a fantastic turnout tonight – it’s been really enjoyable and I’ve brought a lot of my friends who are new to Kisharon.” She is carrying on the good work of her father Adrian Jacobs, a long-term supporter, and both father and daughter ran the Jerusalem half-marathon for Kisharon last summer.
