Unique Art Show and Auction

31 May 2023

Professional artists – painters, sculptors, ceramicists and photographers – have been working with Kisharon’s adults and children with learning disabilities and autism to create spectacular works for the heART edit exhibition and auction, which is taking place next month, on 22 June.

For the people Kisharon supports with learning disabilities, the impact of seeing their art displayed in a gallery and then sold to raise money will be hugely empowering.

Even working with the artists was a hugely rewarding experience.

Painter Nicole Price said: “At the end of the session there was as much paint on the two of us as on the paper! Adam has such an infectious laugh and it was a joyful experience to work with and spend time with him.”Artist Sharon Schurder commented: “The creative mind that is free to explore and is not worried what other people think is a talent that we can all tap into. Watching Danny paint has been a transformational experience for me. It has been an honour to be a part of this initiative and watch Danny’s confidence and skills develop week after week.”

Around 28 professional and emerging artists donated their time to work with Kisharon people. Among them is painter and sculptor David Breuer-Weil. His works are exhibited in public spaces around the world. Others include artist Bettina Caro whose paintings capture the light and vibrancy of her North African childhood and photo-journalist Judah Passow winner of four World Press Photo awards for his coverage of conflict in the Middle East.

This unique exhibition and auction will take place on 22 June. For more information or to book your ticket, please contact Emma on 020 3209 1163 or email emma.nagli@kisharon.org.uk
