22 September 2022

Twenty-four people participated in the iconic London to Brighton cycle event for Kisharon on Sunday 11 September – cycling 54 miles from Clapham to Brighton.

Kisharon offers education, opportunity and support to children and adults with complex and profound learning disabilities – enabling them to thrive, grow and fulfil their unique potential. Their forward thinking and person-centred approach to working with learning disabilities improves lives daily. Kisharon not only ensures the people they support are at the centre of everything they do, but also their staff are too. Over the past year Kisharon has run a range of challenge events and are so grateful to everyone who has taken part.

Fundraising Manager, Emma Nagli said: “We are so proud and grateful to our cyclists who left the buzz of the city behind them and joined thousands of fellow cyclists on an ambitious 54-mile journey on two wheels to the beautiful Brighton seafront, while fundraising for Kisharon. The physical challenge they faced, and their excellent fundraising efforts mean that Kisharon can continue its vital frontline services and ensure the people Kisharon support continue to thrive. Well done to everyone and thank you all again!”

Kisharon had a tandem entry with Chaya and Moshe Langerman, pictured, who cycled together and raised over £5,000. Chaya who took up tandem cycling with her husband after an accident left her with poor balance said: “We’re glad we took part. When you have a purpose – like raising money for Kisharon, the ride is far more satisfying. Kisharon is an amazing charity and the work they do is brilliant”.

Jonathan Sinclair, who cycled in memory of his mother, set a fundraising target of £5,000, and raised over £5,500 and there is no stopping participants Eve Sacks and Simon Silver who are continuing to fundraise for Kisharon. Simon in the TCS London Marathon on 2 October and Eve in The Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9 October.
