Green triumph for Kisharon

02 March 2022

Kisharon has digitalised its care records, an eco-friendly step that benefits everyone.

Ending the use of paper records will save incalculable quantities of paper, and users of iplanit, the new software, can access information about individuals in Kisharon’s care at the touch of a button, saving time spent searching filing cabinets.

“It is an exciting time for us. As with installing any system, it has been a rollercoaster, but we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel,” said Key Worker Yanju Adeoba, in the iplanit project team.

iplanit was launched at two supported living sites in November last year, with the roll out at eight more this month.

Comprehensive data now online includes individuals’ support plans, medical information, religious preferences, financial information and benefits, dietary habits and even photo albums so people supported by Kisharon and their families can revisit their own personal celebrations from past years.

iplanit from the company Aspirico, was designed to be accessible for adults with learning disabilities, a significant factor in Kisharon’s choice of software provider.

Already staff at Kisharon’s Further Education College and Bike Shop access the dynamic software before their students start the day.

Yanju explained: “This is to find out whether someone might have got out of bed the wrong side that morning. Having prior information gives a full grasp of the person they are expecting. This is real person-centred care.”

An archive resource ensures every scrap of data is secure indefinitely.

All social care providers are required to digitalise records by March 2024.

“The world stands on three things: Torah, the service of G-d, and deeds of kindness.” Kisharon looks at the person not the disability, teaching Torah, Middos and Mitzvot embracing and cherishing everybody’s special talent and bringing out the best in them.
