Medical clowns use a unique blend of psychology and clowning to alleviate tension and stress in Israel’s hospitals.
Dush – David Barashi – Hadassa Hospital’s most famous medical clown visited the UK on a tour organised by Hadassa UK that culminated in ‘Three Tenners and a Clown,’ a fundraising concert at Central Synagogue.
A large group of people supported by Kisharon attended the concert thanks to the generosity of Hadassah UK Chairman, David Waterman.
Dush visited Kisharon School and Adult Day Services at Hendon where he worked with individuals supported by Kisharon using balloons and a music box.
He modelled the balloons into animals and flowers and there was a moment of magic when one of the men gave a flower to Day Centre Team Leader Natalie Aarons. She said: The morning went really well and the men loved it.”
At Kisharon School, a member of staff said: “Dush was amazing. He was super sensitive to all the students’ needs and it was fantastic for the staff to see the pupils responding so well to something different.”
