Boost for healthy living

17 March 2016

Kisharon’s drive to promote healthy living among the people it supports had a boost this week with the sugar tax announced in the Budget.
Rob Blackstone, Kisharon’s Operations Director, said: “I personally support this move and know that our staff work very hard to make sure that the people we support have a healthy diet. I urge them not to include the consumption of sugar and sugary drinks when they are planning individual dietary plans.”
He added: “The links between sugar and sugary drinks in particular, and Britain’s obesity crisis are well documented and, in the main, public opinion is that the new sugar tax is a bold and brave move by the government, but a step in the right direction to tackle obesity.”
