Go for it, Adrian!

22 February 2018

Adrian Jacobs is raising money for Kisharon in the Jerusalem Half Marathon – said to be one of the toughest in the world – for the fourth time next month, March.

“I am hooked on it. The atmosphere is fantastic and it is a good excuse to keep fit,” he said. He is aiming to raise £5,000.

He said: “I get to the gym once or twice a week and then a couple of months beforehand I do a couple of runs but never more than 8km. The half marathon is actually 21km. I train regularly, but modestly. Once I get to Israel I run a few times to acclimatise myself to all the hills. There are about five or maybe six hills and the Jerusalem marathon is reckoned to be one of the hardest in the world. Running the half marathon for Kisharon keeps me focused on being fit. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t bother.”

Adrian said the weather wasn’t usually a problem. The event has a 6.45am start and he normally expects to finish by 9.15-9.30am when the temperature would probably be below 14 degrees (celsius).
