JVN kitemark awarded to Kisharon

23 February 2016

Kisharon has won an award from the Jewish Volunteering Network (JVN) for supporting its volunteers.

It was presented for the way in which Kisharon recruits, trains and helps volunteers.

Kisharon is only one of ten organisations to receive the endorsement, which is valid for two years.

Marks were won for responding speedily and sympathetically to questions from volunteers and potential volunteers, and because those whose applications are unsuccessful are given feedback and signposted to other organisations if appropriate.

Giving volunteers an identifiable physical space to work, and a named supervisor for on-going support was praised too.

Kisharon’s Volunteer Co-ordinator Lara Domjan said: “We are proud to be endorsed by the JVN.  We’re very excited about this.”

The Volunteer Management Charter was presented to Lara by Lia Bogod, of the JVN.
