With your help, we thrive

05 May 2022

A team of Kisharon College students, families of people we support, volunteers, supporters and dozens of staff are among those who have signed up so far as Kisharon Champions.

The campaign is taking place on the May 15/16 weekend, when every donation will be doubled.

Step-by-step support will make being a Kisharon Champion as easy as possible, and fun. All you need will be supplied – information about Kisharon, answers to questions you might be asked, films about our work, and much more, will be available throughout the 36-hour campaign. It’s a chance for the whole community to come together to support us.

Donors’ willingness to contribute is why Jane Pearl, whose son Chanochi goes to Kisharon Noé School, will be a Champion again this year.

“I was very surprised at how easy it was to raise money for Kisharon because people really want the opportunity to give,” she said. Hear more from Jane at https://www.facebook.com/Kisharon/

The doubling of contributions made volunteer Lisa Silverbeck, who took part in the Kisharon fundraising campaign a year ago, sign up again.

She said: “Doubling the donations is amazing. Even my children’s friends who each put in a very small sum are impressed when they see they’ve actually contributed quite a reasonable amount. I can reach out to everybody because they don’t have to give much.”

For Aliza Kander it’s the support given to her son, Eitan, a pupil at Kisharon Noé School. She said:

“He’s likely to be at Kisharon for a long time and they are giving him and us a lifetime of support. Kisharon is a really important charity, not just for us but for so many others too. As a community, we must all do what we can.”

Five Kisharon College students, Srulik, Pini, Shloimy, Nissim and Yiddele formed a team with a £10k target, pledging to ask friends and families for support.

After a talk on the need for funds to keep services running, Shloimy said: “Kisharon College is amazing. It’s unbelievable. I have no other words for it.”

Involvement in the campaign has become a lesson in numeracy, IT and much else besides.

Kisharon College Manager Aviva Braunold said: “Pini set up our fundraising page online, and we’re learning the value of money and how different parts of Kisharon operate.”

Every Kisharon Champion’s role is vital to our success. You can sign up here.
