New lockdown – the impact on our services

09 November 2020

Restrictions aren’t as stringent now as in the first lockdown in March and we’re doing everything we can to keep services open, but our priority is to keep the people we support and their families safe.

This time, Kisharon Noé School, Tuffkid Nursery and Kisharon’s Vocation College remain open but, with new restrictions on visitors from outside and in taking part in activities in the community, timetables may change.

With cycling now a popular way to travel and keep fit, Kisharon’s Bike Shop is open, and its work placements will continue. Sadly, Kisharon’s Gift and Homeware Store, Equal is closed but a selection of best-loved gifts will be available online soon. For those planning ahead and needing invitations, Kisharon Design & Print is still open.

Childs Hill Library in Cricklewood is keeping open for borrowers with a select and collect book service. Access to PCs is continuing but users must book for this service. Adult Day Opportunities remains open, with social distancing measures in place.

In supported living, outdoor meetings in a park or public garden are allowed and people will be encouraged to exercise outdoors, weather permitting. Meeting up with families and friends indoors is not allowed unless an individual lives alone when they may be able to form a support bubble with one other household.

Director of Operations and Development Hadassa Kessler said: “We understand how difficult this coming month will be for families and we will do our best to ensure you have as much opportunity for contact as possible throughout this time, including face-to-face and over the phone/video call.”

Kisharon is cushioning the impact of restrictions with an exciting programme of Zoom and outdoor activities to help people stay active, healthy and productive. A new online Covid screening tool for all visitors to Kisharon is adding another layer of protection.
