Volunteers enjoyed an eye-opening breakfast session on what makes Kisharon tick during volunteers’ week.
The volunteers found out at first hand what it takes to give travel training to an individual in preparation for starting that all-important new job and critical information about Kisharon’s new brand and how to uphold it.
“Our volunteers are all ambassadors for Kisharon and it protecting our brand and reputation is top priority,” said Marketing Consultant Beverley Kaye.
Hadassa Kessler, Supported Living Development Manager gave an insight into the Mental Capacity Act which is designed to protect those too vulnerable to make decisions for themselves.
Kisharon’s person-centered approach when conducting care reviews, making sure individual needs and requirements are met, was explained to the volunteers by Aviva Braunold, Day Services Manager.
Afterwards, one volunteer commented: “The training was excellent and it gave a great insight into the areas of Kisharon that I might not otherwise be aware of.”
Volunteers’ Week, run from June 1-12 this year, is an annual celebration of the invaluable input of millions of volunteers across the UK.
