Outstanding Ofsted report for Tuffkid

03 May 2016

Tuffkid Nursery has been given an across the board ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted inspectors – for the second time.

The report says leadership at the nursery is ‘inspirational’ and that the quality of teaching throughout is outstanding. “Staff truly recognise that each child is unique,” it says. “All children, including disabled children and those with special educational needs, make consistently high rates of progress according to their starting points and capabilities.”

Tuffkid is described as a “rich, vibrant learning environment where the children are highly stimulated. Staff have a superb understanding of how each child learns and deliver varied and imaginative play experiences, both indoors and outdoors.”  The report also praises the collaboration with parents.

The nursery received its first outstanding Ofsted report following an inspection in 2011.

Janice Marriott, Head of  Tuffkid Nursery, said: “I am thrilled that the efforts of the whole staff team at Tuffkid have been acknowledged in this outstanding Ofsted report.  We have also had amazing support from our parents in embracing the new systems and working practices which Tuffkid has developed over the last few years.”

At Tuffkid, mainstream children and those with special needs, learn, play and develop alongside each other. The Golders Green nursery has places for up to 30 children aged between two and four years old and is oversubscribed. It was chosen to be part of Barnet’s Early Years Leadership and Management Project.

Kisharon Chief Executive Beverley Jacobson added: “This is a fantastic result for a talented and dedicated team. All credit, though, is due to the inspirational Head, Janice Marriott, whose quest for high quality service delivery is second to none. She is a role model for us all as we strive to ensure that all our services are at the forefront of good practice in their respective fields.”
