We salute our heros

03 April 2020

Kisharon has thanked staff who are keeping those we support safe during the coronavirus outbreak.

Kisharon’s Human Resources Manager Lee Zucker said: “The big applause when the nation shows its appreciation for all health and social care workers is for Kisharon staff too. Thank you to all those working directly with the people we support under incredibly challenging and ongoing conditions, and to those working creatively from home to enable others to keep working.”

Supported Living Manager Petrona Johnson said: “Everyone is pulling together and putting the people we support first. Our staff have been magnificent. They are committed and dedicated beyond words.”

“Staff have been amazing in the way they are supporting people to maintain social distance but ensuring that life is as normal as possible,” added Afolake Fakeye, Supported Living Manager. “I commend them for their dedication, commitment and hard work. I am truly proud of them.”

Supported living staff are showing ingenuity in keeping Kisharon people occupied during the lockdown. Homes with gardens have been making good use of them and staff have been encouraging those they support to play games and listen to music. Afolake has encouraged those in her care to video call each other to promote communication and interaction…she’s even been calling some of them herself.
