Andrew Loftus is the Trustee with a mammoth responsibility – delivering the new Kisharon School.

He has been working on this project for the past 2½ years and looks set to be consumed by it for a little longer yet!  Yes, it does take up a great deal of Andrew’s time, but he won’t divulge exactly how much.

Nonetheless, he relishes the task. He said: “Bev and her team have exciting plans and great vision to provide excellent care and facilities for every life stage and I want to help them realise this vision.”

Working closely with Kisharon School Headteacher Sora Kopfstein, Andrew has had day-to-day involvement with the project, including sourcing architects, designers and building firms with experience of a special-needs environment – and this has been achieved.

With a background which includes property, and with considerable experience of development and planning processes, Andrew has more than appropriate skills for the task in hand.

His involvement with Kisharon stretches back 20 years when he first visited the organisation. Later, he was invited to become a trustee, taking on ever-more substantial responsibilities.

Of the Trustee Board, he says: “It’s made up of a unique blend of professional and lay people. We all take our roles seriously but have a great working relationship and it’s always a pleasure to meet and bounce ideas off one another.”

Pirkei Avos
“The world stands on three things: Torah, the service of G-d, and deeds of kindness.” Kisharon looks at the person not the disability, teaching Torah, Middos and Mitzvot embracing and cherishing everybody’s special talent and bringing out the best in them.
