Childs Hill Library

Childs Hill Library is a partnership library run by Kisharon

Staffed by enthusiastic volunteers, many from the Cricklewood community, the library provides employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. It is a welcoming hub where the local community can borrow books, join in the programme of activities or simply sit, read and meet their neighbours.

In addition to book lending services, the growing schedule of activities – some  run by the Childs Hill community – includes the libraries’ Summer Reading Challenge, Baby Rhyme Time sessions, story reading for the under fives and coffee mornings.

The library space and garden is to be used as a backdrop for Kisharon activities and plans are in the pipeline for initiatives that will benefit the adults we support. One of them is a cycle repair drop off and pick up point run by Equal Bikes, which will launch soon in the library grounds.

Childs Hill Library is at:
320 Cricklewood Lane, London, NW2 2QE

Opening hours are:
Monday 10-1pm
Tuesday 2-5pm
Wednesday 10-1pm and 2-5pm
Thursday 2-8pm
Sunday 2-5pm.

Barnet Council is evaluating the changes made to library services in recent years and your views will count. If you would like to take part in an independent review, complete this online questionnaire: www.activistgroup.co.uk/barnetlibraries Easy to complete, it should take no more than 10-15 minutes, and gives you the chance to provide more feedback and ideas.

Focus groups of parents of 11-18 year olds who may have been affected by changes to the library service are taking place. These will be an opportunity to review services and make recommendations. Everybody taking part will receive a £20 gift token. To register your interest, contact: barnet.libraries@activistgroup.co.uk
