Tuffkid Nursery has become sugar free and is now part of the Mayor of London’s Healthy Early Years London (HEYL) project to champion the development of healthy children.

Nursery Head Janice Marriott, who has been training for the project with Key Worker Angela Biro for a month, said: “We are so delighted to be part of this scheme as we were chosen from many applicants. Tuffkid staff are working towards a bronze award, and won’t stop there as we will strive towards silver and beyond.”

The HEYL programme focuses on healthy food, children’s physical development, communication skills and language, as well as personal, social and emotional wellbeing. Nurseries work with parents to support the healthy development of their children.

Angela said: “The project is a wonderful opportunity for families to understand the steps to take towards a healthier lifestyle. We will start to highlight the importance of healthy living in our weekly parents’ newsletter by sharing top tips from the training.”
