Hadassa Kessler appointed director

15 August 2019

Hadassa Kessler has been appointed Director of Operations and Development at Kisharon. She will take up the post on September 1.

A registered social worker, Hadassa joined Kisharon in 2007 after moving from her native Australia where she worked at OzChild in Melbourne, managing foster care services for children with disabilities.

Over her years at Kisharon, Hadassa has worked across the organisation supporting adults with learning disabilities and their families. Hadassa’s most recent role was Principal Social Worker and Day Opportunities Manager and she says that working with families is the part of her job she finds most enjoyable.

Her priority is to see people with learning disabilities as more valued members of their community and society in general, and to be able to contribute back. Hadassa is passionate about enabling people to live an ordinary life.

The similarities between the values of Judaism and social work led to Hadassa’s choice of career. She is looking forward most of all to building on the strong leadership team that is already in place at Kisharon.
