Create Your Own Challenge
Whatever you choose to do, we will support you all the way!
In addition to our advertised programme of events, you can also fundraise for Kisharon Langdon by taking on your own Challenge event. Sign up for a triathlon, a cycle, a sky dive, a tough mudder or whatever inspires you to raise funds for Kisharon Langdon!
All monies raised will enable people with Learning Disabilities supported by Kisharon Langdon to achieve their ambitions in the year ahead – as equals – through Education, Opportunity and Support.
Some of our most recent ‘Do It Yourself’ Challengers include…
in July 2022, Shira Rees, Sara Solomon and Nicole Bishop (pictured right) climbed Ben Nevis and raised nearly £2300 for Kisharon!
Nicole shared what inspired them to do this: “The conversation about climbing a mountain for charity was brought up one Shabbos afternoon at a friend’s house, and after some planning, the three of us decided to make this conversation a reality, as we booked flights and accommodation to climb Ben Nevis for Kisharon Langdon. After some intense GCSE revision for the past few months, the three of us decided to start off our summer holiday by giving back to the community – What better choice than Kisharon? Kisharon Langdon provides a helping hand in all aspects of life for those who need it, whether it be through education or later on in life in the workplace. As we finish our GCSE’s, we have realised the value of education in our life, which has really shaped us, as we are grateful for the support, we have received for school by the people around us. Kisharon Langdon plays such a vital role within our community and represents the important values we are taught throughout our life, especially within the Jewish community. Values such as patience, kindness and relief to those who need it.”
Thank you girls!
Immanuel raised £910 in a sponsored bike ride to mark his Bar Mitzvah. Together with other Bar Mitzvah boys and his family, he cycled 13 miles.
Immanuel said: “Kisharon Langdon is a charity for people with learning disabilities, it is very close to my heart as my brother, Elias goes to the Kisharon Langdon Noe school”
Thank you Immanuel!
Darren Morrison raised £485 in an outdoor sponsored swim at London Fields Lido in Hackney. In this, his 7th swim for charity, but the first for Kisharon Langdon, Darren swam 1500 metres.
He said: “I have been greatly inspired by Rabbi David Mason of Muswell Hill Synagogue who has a son with special needs and brings him to the morning minyan. I also know of a number of other people in the community whose children have been helped by Kisharon Langdon. It does fantastic work!”
Thank you Darren!
