Children get sweeping for Pesach

04 April 2022

Pesach is coming and more than 1,000 school pupils across London will be taking part in The Big Sweep, one of Kisharon’s social enterprise projects, online early evening on Thursday 14 April.

Everyone who joins in will learn how and why we do bedikat chometz equipping them with the information they need to fulfil the mitzvah with their parents later that evening.

Led by Rabbi Levene of Belmont Synagogue, he will also demonstrate and explain the mitzvah of Bi’ur Chometz.

Every child will receive a feather and candle gift pack, put together by people supported by Kisharon in a paid work opportunity.

A Pesach quiz and raffle, with prizes, have been planned for the children too. Schools taking part are: Hertsmere Jewish Primary School, Rimon Primary, Wolfson Hillel Primary, Sacks Morasha Primary and Kisharon Noé School. Students from Kisharon College will also participate.
