All hands on deck for Rosh Hashanah

30 August 2018

You’ll find highly original gifts for Rosh Hashanah at Kisharon’s Gifts and Homeware Store, Equal, thanks to the work of the people we support, our volunteers and the creativity of our talented staff.

The hard graft has taken place at Kisharon’s new Skills for Employment hub in Hendon, where people we support – even those with the most profound learning disabilities – can learn the skills they need to secure paid employment which in turn enhances confidence and self-esteem.

From this base, teams have been creating honey dippers (£7) each one hand-painted and glazed. These inexpensive gifts will be used year after year. Healthy nuts and dried fruits have been packed into handy re-usable jars, (£7), and our best-selling personalised jars of honey, which make fun gifts or individual place settings, have been packed and labelled.

You’ll spot some of the unique artwork that will go under the hammer at our auction next month, September, on our Rosh Hashanah cards this year. The people we support sorted the cards into handy packs with envelopes for sale at the shop (£4 for a pack of four).

Their work towards making this Rosh Hashanah a bumper one for fundraising started early with the packing of our annual appeal into envelopes to be sent out to our supporters. If you have one, please give generously!
