Buddying Up Programme
Kisharon has launched this exciting initiative, based on an American friendship circle idea, in an effort to support the many special needs children and their families who are struggling with life and in particular with filling their leisure time.
Through this programme, teenage volunteers go in groups of two or three to befriend a special needs child who lives in their neighbourhood and spend an hour a week with him/her in the safety of his/her own home. Together, they bake biscuits, play games, create arts and crafts, read books and do just about anything fun!
This is the highlight of the week for the children accessing this facility and they often are found waiting at their doorsteps for their volunteers to show up!!
