Sarah hits the big time

30 March 2017

You’ll see our much-loved volunteer, Sarah, at Kisharon, but her smiling face appears all over Barnet this month.

Sarah’s enthusiasm for volunteering has propelled her to the front cover of Barnet’s Barnet First magazine, which, this issue, celebrates individuals who make the borough a better place to live and work.

In the magazine, which is delivered to households throughout Barnet, Sarah says: “I’ve been helping to set up a partnership library in Barnet. It’s been really rewarding for me because I know that it will make a difference for the community.”

Francine Haagman, Kisharon’s Volunteer Coordinator, agrees. She says: “Sarah is an amazing asset to Kisharon and is keen to give back to the community.”

Barnet First runs interviews with six individuals, who like Sarah, make big contributions to the community. They include Paddy from Whetstone, who set up a charity to help homeless people, Martin, of Burnt Oak, a volunteer with the Good Neighbours Scheme, and recycling enthusiast Michelle, from East Finchley.

Readers of Barnet First are invited to follow the example of those featured in the magazine and ‘do their bit’ to help projects in the community.
