Kisharon Gala Dinner - Sunday 15th May 2011

Kisharon‟s Gala Dinner was held last Sunday night. 650 enthusiastic supporters packed the London Hilton and helped to create a really exciting buzz in the room. It was a feel good experience. It is heartwarming and reassuring to witness the wonderful support Kisharon enjoys in the community. Among the attendees were Dayan Ehrentrau, Dayan Abraham, Rabbi Winegarten, Rabbi Katz, Lord and Lady Winston, Lord and Lady Levy, the Rt. Hon Michael Gove MP, Secretary State for Education, the Mayor of Barnet, Anthony Finn, several MPs including Matthew Offord MP for Hendon as well as local Counsellors.

During the evening Leo Noé was honoured for 20 years of selfless dedication to Kisharon. Philip Goldberg, our Chairman paid tribute to Leo and as 2011 is the National Year of Communication he dedicated the “Sue and Leo Noe Speech and Language Therapy Programme” in Leo‟s honour. The certificate of dedication was presented to Leo by Ilana Ellison. Ilana, as well as being supported by Kisharon‟s Adult Service, is now employed at Leo‟s company F&C Reit for one day a week.

The night itself really belonged to the staff of Kisharon, who were praised repetitively throughout the evening. Michael Gove described the work of Kisharon as “miraculous… the working of the divine through the hands of men to make the lives of the deserving beautiful – that happens every day at Kisharon. Let us give thanks to those who make it possible. Let’s put our hands together for all those who work and serve G-d”.

The evening was an enormous financial success and a sum of £500,000 has been pledged to Kisharon. Huge thanks go to Adrian Jacobs who organised the Dinner along with his wonderful team comprising Jeremy Benjamin, Uri Goldberg, Yossi Goldberg, Helen and Jeremy Kon, Sharon Kreditor, Yitzy Lerner, Isaac Levy, Jonathan Marriott and Danielle Mevorah. Thanks too to Orchid Creative for their wonderful design work and Simon Maurer and Inspire for producing such a moving film.

Thank you to our Board, staff and volunteers for making Kisharon what it is.
