Over the holidays, the Day School underwent a major refurbishment. The building has been repainted throughout and re-carpeted in most areas. The classrooms are all now bright and airy and have been fitted with interactive whiteboards. In addition, a new therapy room has been built.
The building work resulted in the school remaining closed to pupils for an three extra days but this time gave staff an invaluable opportunity to have sessions on managing challenging behaviour as well as curriculum planning. It also enabled them to get their classrooms back into shape following the building disruption.
Four new pupils started in the youngest class in the Day School and all have settled in to their new routine. Two of the children will be integrated regularly into mainstream schools during the week.
