The men and women who are suppor ted by Kisharon gathered together at Kisharon Adult Services in Parson Street during Chanukah and had fun in various workshops and parties that took place throughout the week.
Tzivos Hashem, the largest Jewish educational outreach organisation came to do an olive oil pressing demonstration and workshop. Everyone took part and had turns in pressing oil.
The young adults made menorahs and joined together each night to light them. Doughnuts were donated from a selection of different bakeries each night and great fun was had in playing a game to guess which shop baked that night’s treat. One night everyone took part in making their own doughnuts.
Two concerts took place during Chanukah week, one for the men and one for the women and a huge marquee was set up in the back garden of Parson Street. Renowned musician, Shloimie Gertner came to sing as well as a fabulous five piece band called Lechaim. They were great and they filled the air with sound.
Women from across North West London were undeterred by the adverse weather conditions on the seventh night of Chanukah at Kisharon Adult Day Services in Parson Street. With a backdrop of pretty (heavy) snow the ladies only audience in a packed hall failed to notice the big freeze outside as they were well entertained by an evening of music from a selection of talented performers:
The line up was fantastic and included popular singers, Abigail Felsenstein, Delia Bueno de Mesquita and a five piece all girl band called Kavana. The 100 plus audience stamped their feet, clapped and sung along to the polished performances. The show was stolen along with our hearts by a fabulous virtuoso performance by Chanie Goldman. Chanie has been supported by Kisharon for many years and has performed many times in front of live audiences and really enjoys these opportunities.
The people we support at Kisharon were thrilled to have the opportunity to invite people from the local community into their building, hosting the event for a nominal fee from the public to raise money for the charity.
