Kisharon runners raise £7k in Royal Parks Half Marathon

11 October 2016

Kisharon will receive a £7,000 boost thanks to its team of 11 runners who took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9 October. They joined a crowd of 16,000 people who set off on the 13.1-mile course which started and ended at Hyde Park and took in many iconic London sites.

Team Kisharon comprised Ari Blum, Dr Elliot Benjamin, Dalia Davis, mother and daughter duo Danielle and Miranda Donne (Shemen); Bernard Fromson, Jeremy Herman, Laura Kaplan, Melissa Manski, Alex Pollak and Ryan Johnston.

Kisharon’s database consultant, Ryan Johnston, who has completed two half marathons in the past, was running for Kisharon for the first time.  He said: “I got my place in a ballot and was easily persuaded to run for Kisharon after we spoke about it in the office. The weather was lovely and we all had a good run through the parks.”

Participants ran across The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.

Kisharon’s Fundraising Director Richard Franklin came to greet the runners and cheer them on, as did Jo Lubbock and Nicole Peppi from the events team.

Richard said: “With so many good causes to choose from we really do appreciate the efforts of our runners and the generosity of those people who have sponsored them.  The money raised will make a big difference to the lives of children and adults with severe and complex learning needs who rely on Kisharon for education, opportunities and support.”
