Kisharon film wins an award

01 October 2015

‘Through My Eyes’ the innovative Kisharon film first shown at the annual dinner in July has won a Gold EVCOM Clarion Award.

Heightened sound effects were used to give a powerful insight into the world through the eyes of a young girl with learning difficulties.

The film, just three minutes long, was created by Vanilla Films and managing directors Karen Benveniste and Debra Sobel collected the award with Kisharon Director of Fundraising Richard Franklin at a ceremony in London.

The film won ahead of four others nominated, including David Beckham’s film for UNICEF which was highly commended.

‘Through Life’s Journey’, the Kisharon film for the 2014 annual dinner was also an award winner, picking up the EVCOM Clarion Innovation prize last year.

“We are thrilled that we have won ‘The Gold’ given the calibre of the other nominees – I don’t know what to say!” said Debra. “It is wonderful working with Kisharon as they are prepared to take creative risks – and this has clearly paid off.”

Richard added: “It is unprecedented for a charity like Kisharon to win two EVCOM Clarion awards. Vanilla Films worked closely with the people we support and our staff, with invaluable input from our trustees, dinner chairs Nicola and Jeffrey Rubinoff and our dinner committee all contributing to this success.”
