Happy to meet you, Cherie!

22 February 2018

There was goodwill all round when Cherie Blair, CBE, QC toured Kisharon’s services on Thursday. With warmth and humility, Cherie, wife of former prime minister Tony Blair, greeted every staff member and volunteer she encountered.

Beginning the tour on her knees trading a train for a fire engine with two-year-old Danny at Tuffkid Nursery, it was obvious why she is held in such high esteem. She moves fluidly and communicates easily with people from all walks of life and abilities.

Most impressive was the meaningful way she engaged with the children and adults who are supported by Kisharon.

This visit to Kisharon was at Cherie’s request ahead of her speaking at the Ladies Brunch on March 5. Cherie runs a  foundation which focuses on empowering women and giving them equal opportunities to establish and grow businesses, and she was attracted by Kisharon’s growing reputation for empowering those with learning disabilities.

Following the success of the visit, it is clear that the brunch will be a truly inspiring event. If you would like to join this event, email nicole.peppi@kisharon.org.uk or book a place here.
