Computers – in easy steps

11 January 2018

Students on Kisharon’s vocational skills course are taking their first steps to becoming computer literate.

While some students are familiar with computers and the internet, others have no experience, and the lessons this term are designed to raise skill levels across the board.

All now have personal email addresses and Aviva Braunold, Vocational College Manager, hopes this will become a reliable means of communication.

Aviva said: “Digital communication is such a useful tool for our students, not only for securing work, job skills training and personal development opportunities but also for commonplace tasks like online shopping. Importantly, students will also learn about online safety and awareness.”

For those who experience difficulty with handwriting, the ability to type letters, application forms and messages will be advantageous. Those with computers at home will be able to brush up on their skills outside normal study hours.

“With so much now requiring online access, this is an extremely useful skill for our students,” Aviva added.
