Volunteering at Childs Hill Partnership Library in Cricklewood has convinced US student Jenna Wine, 20, to become a librarian.
Six teenage girls who have helped at Kisharon every week for a year are an amazing example of youth volunteering.
Inspired by the tuck shop run by Kisharon at her school, Ariela Ohrenstein set up her own. Together with her friend Abby Smith, they piled their stall high with bottled water, Coca-Cola, ice cream and crisps and raised almost £100 for Kisharon.
Together we can make our library a crowdfunding winner. We need to raise £6,500 by September and could attract funding from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
Six outstanding Kisharon volunteers were presented with certificates by the Mayor of Barnet Councillor Brian Salinger at the Volunteers’ Week volunteering fair at the Arts Depot in Finchley. The six were Sarah Adler, Peter Lewinson, Terry Markewicz, Eliezer Gilbert, Lisa Silverbeck and David Shemtob.
