“It was the experience of a lifetime,” said Bev, now back in the warmth of her office at Kisharon after completing the Antarctic Ice Marathon last week. She has raised £80k – exceeding her target of £50k.
Bev faced snow, ice and freezing temperatures on one of the most unique marathons in the world. She joined 50 runners on the course at Union Glacier, Antarctica and was the fifth woman back with a time of 6 hours 43 minutes.
The winner was Irishman Gary Thornton, (3.37).
Bev has exceeded her £50k fundraising target. She was raising funds to buy a home for an adult with learning disabilities, giving them a taste of independence, following her daughter Talya’s move to supported living accommodation earlier this year.
